What is a Pathologic Lesion?
What Is a Pathologic Lesion?
Any small bump or lump on the soft tissues in your mouth can be defined as a pathologic lesion. Our team undergoes extensive training and education to identify, diagnose, and treat pathologic lesions.
The Importance of Oral Examinations
Our team will perform an oral examination during your appointment. This will include looking at your throat and mouth for any pathologic lesions. Though pathologic lesions can lead to discomfort, most are not life threatening.
Should our team locate any lesions, we will perform a biopsy. Following the biopsy results, our experienced doctors will communicate results, as well as a recommended treatment plan.
What Is Oral Cancer?
Oral cancer includes any cancer found on the inner cheek, tongue, jaw, and hard and soft palates. The diagnosis of oral cancer requires a biopsy to confirm the results. Oral cancer has an 80% survival rate when identified early and treated immediately.
Our office can perform the surgical removal of oral cancers. Additionally, our team can provide follow-up care including any reconstructive or cosmetic procedures that are needed.
