Providing world-class oral health care to residents of Sachse and nearby areas, Contemporary Facial and Oral Surgery is committed to developing positive relationships with our patients and delivering excellent results.
Our oral surgeons, Dr. Stephen Chan and Dr. Aidan Phan, are committed to treating a number of diseases and conditions that affect the oral cavity and the maxillofacial region. Our practice is equipped to handle every stage of treatment – from the consultation to recovery – and our support staff is highly trained and educated to deliver superior oral healthcare.
The Benefits of Specialty Care
Oral surgeons are specialists. Their training and education is rigorous and extensive. Oral surgeons perform complex treatment such as facial reconstruction and are experts at placing dental implants. In addition to earning a DDS, an oral surgeon will complete a second advanced degree and residency training. To practice as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, one must also pass board certifications. All of this means that patients will receive the highest quality care from a doctor with an innumerable amount of hands-on training. Like any other specialty field, Drs. Chan and Phan attend annual continuing education to stay on top of the latest developments in oral and maxillofacial surgery so that members of our community continue to receive the most advanced and precise care possible.
Conditions and Diseases Treated by Oral Surgeons
Oral surgeons provide a number of necessary and beneficial services and treatments. Common procedures include the extraction of teeth – especially wisdom teeth, the placement of dental implants, and corrective surgeries for the jaw. Some patients come to Contemporary Facial and Oral Surgery for reconstructive and cosmetic procedures after traumatic accidents and others may come to our office on referral from their orthodontist. Dr. Chan and Dr. Phan perform necessary care like oral pathology, which can literally save lives. Oral cancers are common and difficult for patients to detect. Our practice performs oral cancer screenings, biopsies, and lesion removal. We work with general dentists, orthodontists, and family physicians to provide comprehensive treatment that improves both a patient’s quality of life and oral function.
